Africa-Press – Rwanda. Ambassador Charles Kayonga presented his letters of credence to President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jormat Tokayev at the Presidential Palace in Astana on Wednesday, September 11.
Kayonga, who serves as Rwanda’s Ambassador to Türkiye, is also accredited to Azerbaijan and Lebanon.
The retired Lieutenant General was appointed as ambassador to Türkiye in November 2023, replacing Fidelis Mironko, who had held the post since 2020.
A former Chief of Defence Staff of Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), Kayonga had previously served as Rwanda’s Ambassador to China until 2019.
He was retired from military service in August 2023.
