Africa-Press – Rwanda. Head coach Yamen Zelphani didn’t hold back his disappointment following Rayon Sports’ 1-1 draw with Al Hilal Benghazi which ultimately led to their elimination from the CAF Confederations Cup.
After a 4-2 loss in the penalty shootout, their dreams of progressing further in the competition were dashed.
Zelphani said: “We didn’t enter the game the way we wanted; we made mistakes in the opening 10 minutes that led to Al Hilal’s goal.”
“I came here because of the CAF Confederations Cup, It is the main reason I was brought here, now I am very frustrated.”
Yamen noted that if they couldn’t beat Al Hilal at home, they didn’t deserve to stay in the competition. He pointed to the difference between playing behind closed doors in the first leg and having the support of their fans in a full stadium for the second leg, emphasizing that they could have performed better.
