Africa-Press – Rwanda. Mukura VS skipper Nicolas Sebwato insists that winning the Best goalkeeper of the season award is a testament that hard work pays off.

The Ugandan shot stopper receiced the golden glove during the 2025 Rwanda Premier League awards gala held at Kigali Convention Centre on Friday, May 30.

He beat the likes of Rayon Sports’ Khadime Ndiaye and APR FC’s Pavelh Ndzila to the prestigious prize.

Reacting on the achievement, Sebwato that it is an honor to be named best goalkeeper of the season which he said be impossible if it weren’t for working hard to help his team to perform well.

“I feel good for this award because it shows my effort and hard work has been recognized. I thank the almighty God for this success,” he told Times Sport.

Sebwato helped Mukura finish fift in the Rwanda Premier League. The club also reached the semifinals of the Peace Cup.

He pointed out that it wasn’t bad though they failed to achieve their target of winning at least one trophy.

“The season was fair for us though it was not what we expected because our target was to at least win one trophy. I am looking forward to the 2025/26 season and we hope to achieve more,” he added.

Sebwato made 28 appearances for Mukura this season where he kept 12 clean sheets and provided one assist.

He has one more year left on his existing Mukura VS contract.
