Africa-Press – Rwanda. Moroccan coach Taleb Abderrahim has been appointed as new head coach of Rwandan champions APR FC.
Taleb was unveiled on Tuesday, June 17, after signing a two-year deal with the possibility of extension. His backroom staff includes his two assistant coaches Chahid Mohamed and Haj Taieb Hassan.
“We are pleased to welcome our new head coach Taleb Abderrahim…We have confidence in him and are confident that he will take our team to greater heights,” the club said in an x statement.
Taleb, 61, replaced Darko Novic who parted company was with APR FC in May just three matches before the league campaign concluded.
Since 2007, Taleb coached 13 teams including Moroccan powerhouses RS Berkane, AS FAR and Wydad Athletic Club.
Born on September 10, 1963, in Casablanca, Morocco, began his career as a football player until 2007 when he shifted to coaching, starting with Moroccan outfit Moghreb Tetouan.
His extensive coaching journey has solidified his reputation in African football. He most recently coached Difaa Hassani El Jadidi, a team competing in Morocco’s second division league.
Abderrahim Taleb’s appointment ends earlier rumors which indicated Argentine coach Miguel Angel Gamondi as a potential contender for the APR FC coaching hot seat.
