Africa-Press – Senegal. Senegalese journalist Seydina Alioune Djigo now heads the communication department of the World Bank office in Senegal, we learned on Monday from Mademba Ndiaye, his colleague and predecessor in the same position.
“J’ai le plaisir de vous annoncer que Seydina Alioune Djigo est le nouveau chargé de la communication du bureau de la Banque mondiale au Sénégal”, écrit Ndiaye dans une plateforme électronique réunissant des journalistes.
« Please give him all the support I have received from you », he adds, recalling that his successor worked for « more than fourteen years » in the field of communication, for several organizations based in west Africa.
Djigo has mainly served the media sector, with a nine-year experience at the service of RTS, the Senegalese public audiovisual service, and five years at the BBC.
Seydina Alioune Djigo previously served as editor-in-chief at the BBC’s Francophone Africa desk before joining the World Bank on Monday June 5, 2023, says Mademba Ndiaye.
