majority shareholding in Seychelles Breweries Limited
Phoenix Beverages Limited (Phoenix Beverages) yesterday announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Diageo’s majority shareholding in Seychelles Breweries Limited (SBL).
This milestone marks the official transfer of ownership, positioning Phoenix Beverages as the new majority shareholder in one of Seychelles’ most respected beverage companies. The sale was announced on April 2, 2025.
“We are delighted to officially welcome Seychelles Breweries to the Phoenix Beverages family,” said Bernard Theys, chief executive of Phoenix Beverages. “This acquisition reflects our long-term strategy to expand our regional presence while honouring the heritage and legacy of iconic local brands.”
The integration process will begin immediately, with no disruption to SBL’s existing operations, workforce, or product offerings. SBL will continue to operate under its current name and management team, ensuring continuity and stability.
