Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Former Director of Communications to former President Ernest Bai Koroma, Jarrah Kawusu-Konte has declared support for Ibrahim Bangura as the best candidate for the All People’s Congress (APC) Presidential seat.
“I believe in Dr Ibrahim Bangura because he is not running from the truth, he is running towards it,” Kawusu-Konte noted.
He added that his support for Bangura is also based on the lived experiences the aspiring candidate faced with the “broken system” especially in the health sector.
“He lost a brother not because of fate, but because of a broken system,” he said. “He knows what it means to feel helpless in a hospital corridor.”
Kawusu-Konte expressed his confidence in Bangura’s ability to lead both the APC party and the nation, focusing on Bangura’s extensive experience gained through service in over 30 countries.
Bangura is a Sierra Leonean academic, peacebuilding expert, and political figure, currently vying for the 2028 presidential nomination of the APC. Born into an APC family, his father was a prominent member of the party’s Youth League and later served as its Organising Secretary.
At the age of 15, he initiated his political journey by founding ‘The Rising Sun,’ a youth movement aimed at promoting the ideals of the All People’s Congress (APC).
During his time at university, he took leadership of the APC Student Movement at Fourah Bay College, where he notably invited Ernest Bai Koroma to participate in a campaign event in 2002.
