Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. PC Hon. Alhaji Musa Bamba Forray Kulio Jalloh III has officially been sworn in as the newly elected Paramount Chief Member of Parliament (PCMP) for Tonkolili District on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

His swearing-in ceremony was conducted in accordance with Section 83 and the Third Schedule of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone, alongside Standing Order 1(a) of the Standing Orders of Parliament.

The ceremony followed the passing of former PCMP, PC Alhaji Masakamara Kanamanka III, who died in November 2024. The Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas, announced the official confirmation of PC Kulio Jalloh III’s election, as declared by the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone.

The Director of Legislative Services, Momodu Lamin Deen Rogers, administered the Oath of Office to the new member on behalf of the Clerk of Parliament.

“I PC Hon. Alhaji Musa Forray Kulio Jalloh III of Tonkolili District having been elected as Member of Parliament, do hereby in the name of Allah, swear that I will bear allegiance of the Republic of Sierra Leone as by law established, that I will uphold and defend the Constitution of Sierra Leone, and that I will faithfully and conscientiously discharge the duties of a Member of Parliament, so help me Allah”, he get sworn.

During this solemn occasion, PC Kulio Jalloh III pledged his allegiance to the Republic of Sierra Leone, vowing to uphold and defend the Constitution and to faithfully discharge his duties as a Member of Parliament.

In his address, Rt. Hon. Speaker Thomas welcomed PC Kulio Jalloh III back to Parliament, appreciating his experience and contributions as a former member. The Speaker emphasized the important role that paramount chiefs play in representing their communities and contributing to legislative processes that affect the nation.

The new PCMP steps into his role during a critical period for Tonkolili District, where addressing socio-economic challenges and promoting development will be among his top priorities. His election signifies a continuation of traditional leadership within the parliamentary framework, reinforcing the link between local governance and national legislation.
