Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Freetown City FC’s relegation from the Leone Rock Premier League has been confirmed following a narrow 1-0 defeat to title-chasing Bo Rangers FC, in a decisive match that sealed the club’s fate.
A first-half goal from Mohamed Kabba proved to be the difference, as the reigning champions asserted their dominance and gave the capital-based side little room for a comeback. The Elephants controlled much of the game, leaving Freetown City unable to mount any significant response.
The loss leaves Freetown City FC on just 19 points from 30 matches, and with only four games remaining, the club is now mathematically relegated, unable to climb out of the drop zone regardless of upcoming results.
It’s a disappointing end to the season for a club that has struggled with form and consistency throughout the campaign. Meanwhile, Bo Rangers continue their title pursuit, further cementing their status as one of the league’s most formidable sides.
