Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Regional Commander of Freetown East, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Brima Kanneh, conducted a formal inspection and groundbreaking ceremony at the Owen Street Police Post land, located along the Hill Side Bye-Pass Road in the East End of Freetown.

During the visit, AIG Kanneh officially turned the soil to signal the commencement of construction of a perimeter fence around the police property.

Speaking after a briefing from the local Commanding Officer, AIG Kanneh expressed gratitude to officers and personnel for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the land from encroachment.

“This land belongs to the Sierra Leone Police, and it will be developed to serve the needs of the Police and the community,” he emphasized. “I urge everyone to respect the vision and work together to see it through.”

He reaffirmed that the property would be utilized for its intended policing purposes and called on the public and stakeholders to support the initiative for the greater good.

The ceremony concluded with the symbolic sod-turning by AIG Kanneh, officially kick-starting the construction phase of the perimeter fence. This step is aimed at safeguarding state property from illegal encroachment and marks a turning point in efforts to secure and develop the strategic police site.
