Femi Claudius-Cole Confirms 2028 Election Bid

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Unity Party leader Femi Claudius-Cole has declared her intention to contest the 2028 general elections under the Unity Party banner, reaffirming her commitment to independent political leadership.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Radio Democracy, Claudius-Cole was asked whether she would consider aligning with either the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) or join the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) for mayoral position. In response, she stressed the importance of strategic thinking when considering political alliances.

“I know the value of collaboration and alliance, and one can’t just go into alliance without better justifications,” she stated.

Claudius-Cole emphasized that any decision to form an alliance must be critically assessed and carefully planned, noting that political partnerships should not be entered into lightly or for convenience.

Her remarks come amid growing public discourse on coalition building ahead of the 2028 elections, as smaller parties weigh their options in a polarized political landscape.
