New Water Resources Director General Unveils Action Plan

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The newly appointed Director General of the National Water Resources Management Agency (NWRMA), Ing. Pierre Palmer, has launched a 100-day action plan aimed at boosting efficiency and strengthening water governance across Sierra Leone.

The plan follows a comprehensive diagnostic review of the institution, which included a thorough examination of the handover report from the former Director General and assessments from all departments.

The review reportedly highlighted the Agency’s current operations, ongoing activities, and technical and administrative challenges that have been impeding progress.

Palmer identified several “low-hanging fruits,” or practical and achievable interventions, to guide the first 100 days of his administration. These early targets are intended to accelerate internal reforms and deliver quick, visible results.

The plan also focuses on strengthening the Agency’s fundamental operational structures to better align with sector challenges. Key areas of improvement include technical capacity, administrative processes, and internal coordination.

Departmental representatives welcomed the diagnostic review, noting that it provides a clear roadmap and renewed direction for the Agency.
