Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Ministry of Health and the National Medical Supplies Agency (NMSA) have completed a high-impact technical mission to Rwanda, visiting Rwanda Medical Supply (RMS) Ltd and its innovative third-party logistics partners Zipline and Kasha.
The mission marks a significant step toward transforming Sierra Leone’s public health supply chain.
The visit focused on strengthening national systems, improving last-mile delivery, and establishing a financially sustainable supply chain to ensure consistent access to essential medicines across Sierra Leone.
At RMS, the delegation which included the Deputy Chief Medical Officer in charge of Clinical Services, the Managing Director of NMSA, the Chief Pharmacist, and other technical experts reviewed world-class warehousing, digital inventory systems, and governance structures that have enhanced Rwanda’s efficiency, accountability, and transparency in the management of healthcare commodities.
The team also observed Zipline’s state-of-the-art drone operations, which deliver life-saving supplies within minutes to hard-to-reach communities.
At Kasha, they explored digital and e-commerce platforms that are expanding access to health and personal care products for underserved populations.
