Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The chairman of the Presidential Initiative on climate change, renewable energy, and food security, Dr. Kandeh.K. Yumkella, on his Facebook page, announced the implementation of the 105MW gas turbine generation plant in Kissy, Freetown.

They reaffirmed DFC’s strong commitment to the implementation of the 105MW gas turbine generation plant in Kissy, Freetown, he stated.
“I expressed my appreciation for the significant investments DFC is making in Sierra Leone, not just in energy, but also in critical infrastructure like the airport and fibre optic network. “
We remain committed to working closely with all partners to ensure timely delivery and transformative impact, he stated.
Further informing that he met and had a productive discussion with EU Ambassador Jacek Jankowski regarding the legal and regulatory framework needed for the rollout of mini-grids across the country.
Finally, Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella said, the mini-grids are crucial for expanding energy access to rural communities. I conveyed President Julius Maada Bio’s deep appreciation to the EU for their continued support and emphasized our readiness to support the upcoming launch of the mini grid initiative under His Excellency’s leadership.
