Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Honorable Abdul Karim Kamara, the whip of the opposition in Sierra Leone’s parliament, has issued a strong warning regarding the upcoming 2028 elections, emphasizing that the Sierra Leone’s peace depends on avoiding the controversies that marred the 2023 elections.

In a recent television interview, Hon.Kamara stated, “The fabric of the nation not going into war after 2028 is pinned on the 2028 election.”

The All-people’s congress Honorable declares that any attempts to replicate the contentious atmosphere of the 2023 elections would be met with resistance. When asked by the presenter about whether his comments constituted a threat, he declined to elaborate, simply stating, “If it is a threat, I will not say it here.”

This warning comes shortly after President Maada Bio confidently declared at the 14th national delegates conference that the Sierra Leone People’s Party aims to become the first political party in Sierra Leone to win three consecutive terms in 2028.

Additionally, Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh also outlined reasons for the SLPP to remain in office beyond 2028, highlighting government efforts since 2018 in health, education, energy, and agriculture.
