ACC Presents 2024 Annual Report to President Bio

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, presented its 2024 Annual Report to His Excellency President Brig. (Rtd.) Dr. Julius Maada Bio at a ceremony held at State House in Freetown.

ACC Commissioner Francis Ben Kaifala Esq. presented the report, highlighting several major achievements made by the commission during the year 2024.

In presenting the report, Commissioner Kaifala pointed to significant milestones that demonstrate the ACC’s successful anti-corruption strategy:

New National Strategy: The crafting of a new National Anti-Corruption Strategy.

Compliance Rate: A 91 percent compliance rate in assets declarations.

Asset Recovery: The recovery of over Twenty-two Million (New) Leones (Le 22,000,000.00) in assets.

Commissioner Kaifala used the opportunity to commend President Bio for his support, stating, “Your culminated Presidential Will in the fight against corruption over the years, which has culminated in massive financial and moral support from your government. The tremendous leadership you have demonstrated is unprecedented and I want to say thank you for this.”

Responding to the presentation, President Bio thanked the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Management, and Staff of the ACC for their “remarkable work” in the fight against corruption.

The President affirmed his government’s continued support for the Commission and other accountability institutions, while encouraging the ACC to avoid complacency and to continue seeing corruption as a common enemy.

Deputy Commissioner of the ACC, Augustine Foday Ngobie, confirmed that the presentation of the Annual Report was consistent with Section 19 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act No. 12 of 2008 as amended in 2019. He noted that the report provides a comprehensive account of the work of the various departments of the Commission.
