Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Bakeh Loko Chiefdom is now set for a highly anticipated Paramount Chieftaincy election following the successful declaration of qualified aspirants held on the 29 October, 2025, at the Conference Hall in Port Loko.
The event, which drew local government officials, traditional authorities, local stakeholders, and members of the public, was conducted under the supervision of the Provincial Secretary.
After a thorough verification and declaration process, all seven aspirants representing their respective ruling houses were officially cleared to vie for the Paramount Chieftaincy of Bakeh Loko Chiefdom. The candidates are:
1. Ishmael Opapa Bangura ( Adikali Mela I Ruling House)
2. Abubakarr Baba Gbendeh Kamara ( Adikali Sadu Kamara Ruling House)
3. Rtd. Colonel Karifa Kamara (Adikali Fatma Brima I Ruling House)
4. Mohamed Momoh Kamara ( Fatma Brima Ruling House)
5. Kalie Alpha Bangura (Moribia Bangura Ruling House)
6. Alhaji Sheriff Kamara (Adikali Modou Ruling House)
7. Abdulai Bangura (Moribia Ruling House)
The declaration marks a significant milestone in the chieftaincy electoral process, confirming the eligibility of the candidates who will compete for the revered traditional leadership seat of Bakeh Loko Chiefdom.
The Provincial Secretary, in his remarks, commended the ruling houses and local authorities for their cooperation and peaceful conduct throughout the exercise. He emphasized the need for continued unity, tolerance, and respect for traditional values as the chiefdom moves toward the election.
