APC Aspirant JFK Criticizes Government's Budget and Services

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. In an exclusive interview with Liberty Online TV, All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK) strongly criticized the government’s performance, accusing it of failing to deliver basic services while relying on “propaganda” to present an exaggerated picture of progress.

JFK argued that government reports and budget documents often paint an unrealistic image of national development, one that does not reflect the harsh realities citizens face daily. He described the recently presented 2025 national budget as “largely unrealistic,” noting that its promises remain disconnected from the struggles of ordinary Sierra Leoneans.

“The government says one thing, but the reality is completely different,” JFK asserted. “There is no better healthcare; people are dying every day, not just because of drugs, but also because of hunger. All the projects they talk about only exist on paper they are not working in reality.”

He further highlighted the challenges of poor healthcare delivery and worsening food insecurity, stressing that citizens are being forced to cope with extreme hunger due to the lack of proper food security measures.

According to JFK, a nation cannot be run on empty promises: “You cannot run an economy on propaganda, thinking that just by talking, things will improve. The government must face reality and act.”
