APC Threatens Unrest Over Potential 2028 Election Rigging

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Minkailu Koroma, a member of the All People’s Congress (APC) Communications Team, has issued a warning that Sierra Leone could face instability if the 2028 general elections are manipulated.

His remarks come in response to recent statements made by the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) National Chairman, Jimmy Batilo Songa.

Koroma emphasized the importance of transparent, credible, and peaceful elections as the foundation of democracy, noting that any attempt to undermine the electoral process could lead to widespread unrest and make the country “ungovernable.”

“If they attempt to rig the elections, the APC will not accept the result as long as it is not credible. We will make the country ungovernable.”

His comments reflect growing political tension and public concern about maintaining fairness and trust in Sierra Leone’s electoral system ahead of the next national polls.

Observers have urged both the ruling SLPP and the opposition APC to engage constructively through dialogue and uphold the principles of democratic governance to ensure peace and stability in the lead-up to the 2028 elections.
