Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. As the global Jubilee of Hope draws to a close this January, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Makeni, Bob John H. Koroma, delivered a powerful New Year’s Eve sermon at the Our Lady of Fatima Cathedral, urging the faithful to move from being “pilgrims of hope” to becoming active architects of a better Sierra Leone.
Reflecting on the hardships of 2025, Bishop Koroma expressed profound gratitude for divine providence, noting that although socioeconomic challenges were severe, the community was sustained by faith.
He emphasized that the arrival of 2026 should not be taken for granted, calling on the faithful to “count your blessings day by day” and to surrender the pains and burdens of the past year to God.
