Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, is set to deliver the keynote address at the Plenary of the 30th Session of the AFS Youth Assembly in New York City on August 9, 2025.
The event will take place from August 8 to 10, bringing together over 700 young leaders from more than 100 countries.
The theme for this year’s AFS Youth Assembly is “Defying Adversity: Empowering Young Global Citizens to Lead.”
The AFS Youth Assembly serves as a global platform designed to cultivate an international network of young leaders and changemakers through exchange, education, action, and impact.
During the assembly, participants will engage in discussions on critical topics, including navigating global instability through peace, policy, and action; developing green skills for employment to foster a sustainable resource-efficient society; addressing youth mental health challenges in a turbulent world; and promoting women’s inclusion and leadership.
Minister Bah’s participation is deemed as Sierra Leone’s commitment to empowering youth and fostering global citizenship.
The AFS Youth Assembly notably provides an opportunity for young leaders to collaborate on solutions to the pressing challenges facing their communities and the world at large.
