Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Corruption Watch Sierra Leone has awarded a certificate of excellence to the Deputy Chief Administrator of the Koinadugu District Council, Mr. Osman Chanyour Kamara, in recognition of his participation in the organization’s anti-corruption activities.
The certificate was conferred on April 21, 2026, during a brief handing-over ceremony conducted by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Corruption Watch Sierra Leone, Mr. Ibrahim Sorie Bah.
According to the Chairman and National Coordinator of the organization, Mr. Alhaji Abu Koroma, the decision to honour Mr. Kamara was intended to motivate public officials and draw greater public attention to the activities of Corruption Watch Sierra Leone.
He stated that the recognition forms part of the organization’s broader efforts to encourage transparency and public engagement in the fight against corruption.
Mr. Koroma explained that Mr. Kamara’s continuous participation in the organization’s programs, particularly his willingness to answer public questions on the dangers of corruption, earned him the recognition. He noted that the management and Board of Directors were pleased with Mr. Kamara’s contributions, which they described as consistent and impactful.
The organization emphasized that such recognition is aimed at strengthening collaboration between public institutions and civil society in promoting accountability.
In his response, Mr. Kamara expressed appreciation for the certificate, describing it as a reflection of his commitment to engaging with the public on issues related to corruption.
He noted that his involvement in answering questions from the public was part of efforts to promote greater interaction and awareness through the platform provided by Corruption Watch Sierra Leone.
The event notably reflects ongoing efforts by civil society organizations to recognize and encourage public officials who actively support anti-corruption initiatives in Sierra Leone.
