Deputy Regional Commander Warns OSD Personnel

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Deputy Regional Commander of the Sierra Leone Police, North East, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Khrushchev Kargbo, has admonished Operations Support Division (OSD) personnel to take their job seriously and work within the ambit of the law.

Addressing personnel from Makeni, Magburaka, Panlap divisions, and the Region at the Regional Headquarters on August 6, 2025, ACP Kargbo emphasised the importance of discipline and professionalism in the performance of their duties.

ACP Kargbo warned personnel against taking harmful substances, stressing that anyone caught with drugs like Kush and Jamba would face disciplinary action, including dismissal from the Organization. He underscored the significance of discipline as the primary foundation of the Sierra Leone Police.

The Deputy Regional Commander highlighted key issues that OSD personnel should take seriously, including proper care of assigned rifles, refraining from providing escort services to drug lords, conducting regular and robust checks at checkpoints, and avoiding engagement in political dialogue.

ACP Kargbo’s charge to OSD personnel reflects his commitment to upholding the integrity and professionalism of the Sierra Leone Police. His emphasis on discipline and adherence to the law is expected to enhance the effectiveness of the OSD in maintaining law and order in the North East Region.

The Regional OSD Coordinator, Chief Inspector Moses Bindi, expressed gratitude to ACP Kargbo for his leadership and encouraged personnel to adhere to the guidelines and instructions provided. He emphasised the importance of teamwork in ensuring the smooth operation of the Region.
