Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. East End Lions Defender and Sierra Leone U20 international, Saidu Musa “Jones” Bangura, has completed a move to Austrian second-tier side SW Bregenz on a contract running until 2027.

The 19-year-old defender caught the eye with his commanding displays at the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where he was among the standout performers for Sierra Leone. His solid defensive presence and composure on the ball earned plaudits despite Sierra Leone’s early exit from the tournament.

Bregenz confirmed his arrival in a statement: “We are pleased to announce the signing of 19-year-old defensive player Saidu Musa ‘Jones’ Bangura. He signs a contract until 2027.”

Bangura arrives after spending the past five seasons with Sierra Leone Premier League champions East End Lions, where he developed into one of the league’s most reliable young defenders. His performances at club and international level ultimately paved the way for his first move to Europe.

The Sierra Leonean teenager now faces a new chapter in Austria’s Liga 2, with hopes of continuing his development and pushing for senior national team recognition.
