Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced that FIFA President Gianni Infantino has sent an official letter congratulating Mr. Babadi Kamara on his recent election as President of the SLFA.
In the letter dated 6 August 2025, Mr. Infantino extended his “warmest greetings and sincerest congratulations,” expressing confidence in Mr. Kamara’s ability to take Sierra Leonean football to greater heights.
“Your knowledge and leadership, your passion and experience will undoubtedly have an important impact on the development of our beautiful game in Sierra Leone,” the FIFA President stated.
Mr. Infantino also pledged his personal support, as well as that of FIFA, towards sustainable football development in the country. He reaffirmed that “the doors of FIFA are always open” for dialogue on the sport’s growth and the promotion of its values.
In addition to congratulating Mr. Kamara, Mr. Infantino extended his best wishes to the newly elected Vice-Presidents and Members of the SLFA Executive Committee, encouraging them to create “a lasting legacy for the future of football in Sierra Leone.”
The SLFA has welcomed the message as a strong endorsement of the new leadership’s vision and commitment to the game, while expressing gratitude for FIFA’s continued support.
