Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. First Lady of Sierra Leone, Madam Fatima Maada Bio, has safely arrived in the United States to a heartfelt and enthusiastic reception from members of the Sierra Leonean community, ahead of two significant international engagements.
Writing shortly after her arrival, Madam Bio expressed gratitude for a safe journey and appreciation for the warm hospitality she received.
“Thank you, Allah, for safe travels,” she wrote. “Later yesterday, I successfully arrived in the United States of America to a warm and heartfelt welcome from the Sierra Leonean community.”
The First Lady is in the U.S. to attend the Third Annual Global First Partners Academy at the Ford Foundation, a premier gathering of global leaders focused on innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development.
She will also be the guest of honour at the Night of Appreciation, Excellence and Elegance, a prestigious event organized by JMB North America with support from the SLPP DMV Chapter, recognizing her contributions to national and continental development.
In her message, Madam Bio thanked the SLPP DMV Chapter for the warm reception and extended deep appreciation to JMB North America for their continued support.
“Thank you to the SLPP DMV Chapter for the warm reception, and a heartfelt thanks to JMBNA for your continuous support and dedication,” she stated.
As First Lady of Sierra Leone and President of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), Madam Bio reaffirmed her commitment to amplifying the voices of women, children, and communities on the global stage.
“I look forward to meaningful engagements that reflect our shared vision for progress, empowerment, and unity,” she said.
