Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Sierra Leone government has declared Friday, March 8th, 2024, a public holiday in observance of International Women’s Day.
The Government made this announcement in a public notice issued today, Thursday 7th March 2024.
The notice informs the public that International Women’s Day will be observed on Friday and, accordingly, the day has been declared a public holiday throughout the country.
“The General Public is hereby informed that International Women’s Day will be observed on Friday, March 8th, 2024. Accordingly, Friday, March 8th, 2024, has been declared a Public Holiday throughout the country.”
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It is also a call to action to accelerate gender equality. The theme for International Women’s Day 2024 is “Embracing Equity: Building a World Where No One Is Left Behind.”
