Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Retired AIG Morie Lengor Esq, today paid an unannounced visit to the Water Quay in Freetown to inspect six luxury vehicles reportedly stolen from Canada and impounded by INTERPOL.

The minister’s visit followed intelligence received by his office concerning the presence of the high-end vehicles at the port. The inspection was part of efforts to ensure the vehicles remain secure and accounted for while investigations continue.

During the visit, Minister Lengor emphasized the importance of safeguarding the impounded vehicles and maintaining transparency in the handling of stolen assets. He cautioned against any attempts to tamper with or remove the vehicles from custody, stressing that they must not “disappear without trace.”

The vehicles are believed to have been smuggled into the country and flagged through international security collaboration.

INTERPOL has been closely involved in tracking and recovering the stolen properties, with support from Sierra Leonean authorities.
