Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Ministry of Internal Affairs Conducts Final National Validation of Strategic Plan 2026–2030
The Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted its first-ever final national validation of its Strategic Plan 2026–2030 on 20th November 2025, with representatives from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in attendance. The session was held at the CCSL Hall on Kingharman Road in Freetown.
Addressing the gathering, Minister of Internal Affairs, AIG (Rtd.) Morie Lengor Esq., described the validation as a milestone in the Ministry’s development journey. He highlighted the extensive consultations undertaken with MDAs, key stakeholders, and regional offices to finalize the Ministry’s inaugural Strategic Plan.
“This Strategic Plan provides a clear roadmap to guide our operations and ensures transparency and accountability to the people of Sierra Leone,” Minister Lengor said. He added that the plan also establishes mechanisms for institutional growth and service delivery improvements across the Ministry.
Minister Lengor expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their active participation in the review process, noting that their contributions reflect a shared commitment to strengthening national security. He also acknowledged the support of the UNDP, describing it as critical to the completion of the Strategic Plan.
Representing UNDP, Madam Laura Nicol emphasized that the Strategic Plan is a crucial step toward enhancing institutional effectiveness, promoting good governance, and improving citizen-centered services.
She highlighted that the plan provides a coherent vision and roadmap for advancing internal security, public administration, disaster management, and community resilience areas essential for sustainable national development.
The Ministry is expected to incorporate the final inputs and officially launch the Strategic Plan, providing a comprehensive framework to guide its operations over the next five years.
