Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The newly elected President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, and his Executive Committee, has on Friday, 8th August, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the National Sports Authority (NSA) Executive Director and his team.
The visit, held at the NSA’s Head Office in Freetown, aimed at introducing the new SLFA team to NSA and strengthening the relationship between both institutions for the benefit of Sierra Leone football.
Speaking during the visits, President Babadi Kamara described his win as an opportunity to serve the football family and the country as a whole. He told the NSA Executive Director that the SLFA is not a competitor to the NSA.
“The National Sports Authority is our regulatory body, and we are ready to work in respectful and coordinated ways for football development in the country. With my proven track records and guidance from my Executive Committee Members, I am confident that we will succeed,” he said.
He further stated that he has decided to make the NSA his first contact as their direct regulatory body before meeting with other relevant institutions, expressing his readiness to work with the NSA for the benefit of football for all Sierra Leoneans.
As sports administrators, he said they can only become relevant when Leone Stars win matches, reason for which, he added, they need proper coordination and planning.
In his statement, NSA Boss, Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, formally congratulated Babadi Kamara and his team on their elections and pledged the Authority’s unending readiness to work with them.
“NSA is excited to work with the new leadership of the SLFA to achieve President Bio’s Big Five Game-Changers, particularly on youth employment,” he said, calling on Babadi Kamara to look into the constitutional issues that were raised by some members of the FA at the just concluded congress in Lungi.
Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai concluded by informing Babadi and his team about the shipment of thirty sets of artificial tuff from Denmark and the progress the NSA has made thus far on the National Sports Development Foundation.
