Parliament Receives Over $40000 Worth of ICT Equipment

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Parliament of Sierra Leone on Tuesday, 22 July 2025, received a significant donation valued at over $40,000 from International IDEA Sierra Leone, with support from European partners.

The donation includes ten desktop computers, seven laptops, and a high-quality printer aimed at enhancing the institution’s administrative and legislative efficiency.

However, the ceremony took place at the speaker’s Board Room in Freetown and was attended by Madam Finda Fraser, Director General of Parliament. In her Speech, Madam Fraser expressed her gratitude for support that International IDEA had provided to Parliament. She also noted the longstanding relationship that IDEA International has had with the Parliament of Sierra Leone.

Representative of IDEA DR. Idriss Mahmud Tarawally, also spoke at the event, stating that his organization was committed to continuing its partnership with parliament. He highlighted the collaboration between IDEA and the parliament of Sierra Leone through the Sierra Leone Democracy Strengthening projects.

IDEA and parliament have been working closely with parliament of Sierra Leone particularly through the Sierra Leone Democracy Strengthening projects, DR. Idriss stated.

The event was concluded with the signing of documentation regarding the donated items, marking the official handover of the equipment.
