Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. A tragic incident occurred at approximately 2:00 PM on November 24th, 2025, when a structural pillar at S.R. Industries Limited, situated behind Changes Nightclub in Grassfield, east end Freetown, suddenly collapsed, resulting in casualties and widespread concern.
According to the Director of Operations, Desmond Korombo Kargbo, eight individuals were affected by the collapse. Seven of them sustained varying degrees of injuries and were immediately transported to the Rokupa Satellite Hospital for urgent medical attention. Sadly, one person was confirmed dead at the scene.
Witnesses report that the collapse happened unexpectedly while workers were carrying out routine activities within the facility. Emergency responders and community members quickly mobilized to assist in rescue efforts before medical teams arrived.
Kargbo expressed deep sorrow over the incident and assured the public that the company is cooperating fully with authorities to determine the cause of the structural failure. He added that safety remains a top priority and that measures will be taken to prevent similar occurrences.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed pending notification of the family. Updates will follow as investigations progress.
