Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Regional Commander of Freetown-East, AIG Brima Kanneh, has on Monday, 24th November 2024, held a crucial meeting with all Local Unit Commanders (LUCs) and Operations Officers under his command to ensure full readiness for the implementation of the Festive Season Operational Order, which officially came into effect the same day.
Addressing the commanders, AIG Kanneh stressed the importance of heightened vigilance and professionalism as the region enters a period that traditionally comes with increased public movement and potential security concerns.
He said the Operational Order requires the deployment of both police and military personnel, including joint patrols at key locations, to help maintain peace, deter crime, and provide public reassurance throughout the festive period.
AIG Kanneh urged all units to uphold high levels of discipline, coordination, and swift responsiveness, noting that the effectiveness of the operation would depend on strong leadership and teamwork at every level of command.
Deputy Regional Commander, ACP Patrick Lahai Dumbuya, also addressed the meeting. He encouraged officers to work collaboratively as a single, cohesive team and reminded them that cooperation and mutual support are crucial for delivering effective security services during the busy festive season.
The meeting ended with clear directives aimed at addressing potential challenges, with officers expressing their readiness for the full implementation of the festive season operational framework.
