President Bio Urges Leone Stars to Restructure for Future

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio has urged the Leone Stars to make changes and get more prepared for upcoming international competitions following their last game in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

Speaking with the team at Sea Bird Express in Lungi, President Bio thanked the national team’s performance, especially their 2-1 victory over Djibouti on Sunday in Casablanca, Morocco.

The President acknowledged the team’s efforts throughout the qualifications and emphasized the importance of improvement, staying that improved organization is vital for success in future tournaments.

He also assured the players and officials that the government will continue to engage and assist them.

During his visit, President Bio personally welcomed the team and coaching staff, challenging them to improve on their previous performance and aim for even greater success.

Sierra Leone won their World Cup qualifying campaign against Djibouti, however they were unable to get to the next round.
