Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. President of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Babadi Kamara, has formally presented a sponsorship proposal for the FA Cup to Africell CEO Shadi Gerjawi.
Kamara thanked Africell for meeting to discuss the proposal and praised the company for its ongoing contributions to Sierra Leone, describing Africell as a model within the industry.
He said his administration is committed to changing the trajectory of football in Sierra Leone and restoring the sport’s image to attract sponsorship and compete at the highest global levels.
Kamara asked Africell to collaborate with the SLFA to support the FA Cup, which is expected to kick off in January, and to assist with preparing the SLFA Secretariat ahead of the league season, noting the association is counting on Africell’s support.
“My administration is committed to changing the trajectory of football in Sierra Leone,” Kamara stressed.
Gerjawi thanked President Babadi for his passion and development efforts in football, said Africell would take the proposal seriously, and respond shortly given the fast-approaching January start date.
He indicated Africell could potentially fulfil most or all aspects of the request and affirmed the company’s interest in supporting a new SLFA Secretariat.
“We will take your proposal very seriously and get back to you shortly, as January is fast approaching,” he assured.
After the presentation, Gerjawi and his team were given a conducted tour of the ongoing work at the SLFA Secretariat.
