Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Chief Minister of Sierra Leone, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, has strengthened bilateral cooperation between Sierra Leone and the Republic of Guinea during a series of high-level engagements held on Thursday, 13th November 2025.
In a statement, Dr. Sengeh said he led a delegation to meet with several senior Guinean Government officials, including the Prime Minister, the Minister Secretary-General of the Presidency, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, the Minister of Security and Civil Protection, the Minister of Mines and Geology, and the Deputy Vice President of National Transition.
He underscored the deep historical and cultural ties shared by both nations and highlighted Guinea’s significance as a key trade partner, noting that Sierra Leone has recorded an average of $42 million in imports from Guinea over the last three years.
“We have shared and connected infrastructure in energy and digital fibre. Our roads, ports, and rail remain major links for our people and products,” Dr. Sengeh stated.
The Chief Minister also disclosed that the governments of Sierra Leone and Guinea recently signed a free roaming agreement for mobile companies, further advancing regional connectivity.
“Sierra Leone has now successfully implemented free roaming for the entire Mano River Union and The Gambia. Digital connectivity isn’t a wish for us we are delivering on it for our people,” he added.
Dr. Sengeh concluded by congratulating President Mamady Doumbouya and the people of Guinea on their recent referendum, the launch of Simandou 2040, and for hosting the Transform Africa Summit 2025.
“We wish the people of Guinea a successful presidential election,” he said.
