Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Sierra Leone Reporters Union (SLRU) Executive, led by President Yeanor Esther Kabia, paid a courtesy call to the National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA) at its Tower Hill office in Freetown.
The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration in promoting national development and accurate public communication.
Kabia praised the transformation of the NPRA and commended Director General Brima Baluwa Koroma for his leadership. She highlighted the union’s 21-year journey and its ongoing reforms, expressing readiness to collaborate with NPRA in disseminating credible information.
She also shared plans for the union’s upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) and sought the Authority’s support.
In response, DG Koroma welcomed the initiative, emphasizing the petroleum sector’s complexity and the need for trustworthy media partners. He outlined NPRA’s mandate, including price stabilization, transparency, and combating misinformation through regular media engagements.
