Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Christian Lahai Bangura Joins US Army (Tipo Nayo Bangs), a Sierra Leonean citizen and entertainment promoter, has officially joined the United States Army.

The news was shared by Tipo himself on Facebook, where he posted photos in uniform with the caption: “To God be the Glory.”

Christian Lahai Bangura, popularly known as Tipo Bangs, is well known in Sierra Leone’s entertainment scene. In 2022, he was appointed interim President of the Sierra Leone Promoters Union (SLPU) after the previous president, Lam Sall, was relieved of duty.

Following the announcement, the Sierra Leone Promoters Union shared a message celebrating Tipo’s achievement. They described it as a proud moment for one of their own and praised his move as bold and honorable. They also commended his character, saying he has always shown pride, talent, and determination, and expressed their continued support for him.

Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad also joined in with words of support across social media platforms.

Sierra Leonean musician and CEO of Borderline ENT, Julius Mustapha Harding popularly known as Camouflage Borderline was among those who publicly congratulated Tipo. In his post, Camouflage said he was proud of the man Tipo has become and thanked him for always standing by him over the years.

Tipo Nayo Bangs’ enlistment into the US Army marks a new chapter in his life, alongside his involvement in the country’s entertainment industry.
