The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially introduced Abdul Karim Bangura (AKB) as the new Team Manager to the Leone Stars’ technical team and players during a ceremony held this morning at the SLFA Headquarters in Freetown, ahead of the national team’s training session.
The introduction was conducted by Acting General Secretary Mohammed Benson Bawoh, who welcomed Bangura to the technical team and players.
In his address, Bangura expressed gratitude and commitment, saying he accepted the role “with deep humility and pride” and pledged to work tirelessly alongside the technical staff, players, and management to ensure the Leone Stars are well-prepared, motivated, and fully supported to achieve success. He emphasized that the appointment is “not just a personal honor, but a call to national service,” and called for unity, discipline, and determination to make Sierra Leone proud.
Responding on behalf of the team, Head Coach Mohamed Kallon warmly welcomed Bangura, highlighting his proven track record at Bo Rangers Football Club. “We strongly believe you can replicate the same success with the national team,” Kallon said.
The brief ceremony was also attended by two SLFA Executive Committee members: Pastor Philip Buck, Chairman of the Western Area Football Association, and Brima Jalloh, Chairman of the North-East Region, who witnessed the formal introduction of the new Team Manager.
