Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Newly elected Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Babadi Kamara has used his first public media appearance to appeal for unity among all football stakeholders in the country.

Speaking on AYV Television’s flagship breakfast show Wake Up Salone, Kamara urged administrators, players, and fans to put aside political and administrative divisions that surfaced during the recent SLFA elections.

“Now that the elections are over, it’s time to put football first. I welcome every stakeholder regardless of affiliation to join hands in rebuilding our game,” he said.

The SLFA President emphasized that national unity within the football family is essential for advancing the sport at every level, from grassroots development to the international stage. He also reaffirmed his commitment to gender equality and promised to give equal investment and attention to women’s football.

Kamara’s message of reconciliation has been met with widespread praise on social media, with many fans describing his tone as humble, inclusive, and inspiring.

His remarks have raised optimism that a more collaborative era could be dawning for Sierra Leonean football.
