Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden has raised concerns about the level of national inclusivity during the commissioning of a new maternal health facility in Kono District.

On 26 October, Dr. Blyden posted on her official Facebook page, criticizing what she described as a “divisive style of governance” under the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) administration.

She questioned claims that the new hospital represented a unifying moment for national development, highlighting that senior members of the All People’s Congress (APC), including Acting National Chairman Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh and Secretary-General Lansana Dumbuya, were allegedly not invited to the event.

Dr. Blyden also asked whether the APC Chairman for Kono District had any formal role in the programme, describing the environment as far from a celebratory moment of unity.

Further, she criticized what she perceives as political hostility toward opposition members.

Addressing ongoing political engagements, Dr. Blyden noted reports that President Bio has tasked government officials to meet APC Parliamentarians over national unity concerns.

She expressed confidence that APC MPs remain firm in their stance, stating in Krio: “APC MPs den nor crase” (APC Members of Parliament are not foolish).
