USL Enhances COMAHS Digital Infrastructure with Internet Upgrade

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS), Kossoh Town, has undergone a major digital upgrade with the installation of high-speed fiber internet, as part of the University of Sierra Leone’s (USL) broader digital transformation agenda.

Led by USL Vice Chancellor and Principal, Professor Aiah Lebbie, the initiative enhances connectivity across the campus, including the library, student hostels, and key academic areas.

The project was executed by E.H. Technology Company Ltd., signaling a significant step forward in improving learning infrastructure and digital access for students and staff.

Speaking during the visit, CEO Edward Williams revealed that the initiative was prompted by direct engagement from Professor Lebbie, who sought a sustainable solution to persistent internet challenges faced by students, particularly those residing in the hostels and using the library.

The project, executed by E.H. Technology Company Ltd., was initiated through direct engagement from Professor Lebbie to address longstanding internet challenges. These upgrades support his broader vision to digitize academic records, improve management systems, and expand digital learning platforms bringing USL closer to becoming a fully modern academic institution.

A delegation from USL’s Communications Directorate visited COMAHS to monitor the implementation of fiber optic internet and advanced CCTV systems, key components of Professor Aiah Lebbie’s initiative to improve digital access and campus security.

According to CEO Edward Williams, the company completed the installation of reliable internet across major campus zones within a week, introduced AI-enabled CCTV cameras with facial recognition, and set up a round the clock power backup system to maintain continuous service during outages.

These infrastructure enhancements are propelling USL toward its vision of becoming a fully modern and digitally advanced academic institution.
