Hawks Investigate 17 SA Men Allegedly Fought for Russia

Africa-Press – South-Africa. The Hawks are investigating the matter of 17 South African men who were allegedly manipulated by the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party to fight in the frontlines of Russia’s ongoing war with Ukraine.

The matter has caused division within the family of MK leader, Jacob Zuma, with both his daughters opening cases against each other.

Nkosazana Zuma-Mncube has accused her sister and member of Parliament, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla of recruiting the men under false pretences.

Meanwhile, Zuma-Sambudla has also opened a counter-application, saying she was also scammed by another recruiter.

In a statement released by the Hawks on Tuesday afternoon, it said that two inquiry dockets had been opened and were currently being investigated for possible cases of human trafficking, fraud and illegal recruitment.
