Africa-Press – South-Africa. Gauteng police have launched a manhunt after seven suspects attacked and bombed a cash-in-transit van in Tembisa on Saturday.

National police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said a G4S vehicle was driving along Montjane Street in Liliba Section, Tembisa when a white Mercedes Benz C-Class rammed the cash van on the rear right side.

“According to a preliminary report, seven suspects started shooting and took the G4S guards out of the van before they bombed it,” said Mathe.

No one was injured.

Police said the suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of money in a white single-cab Ford Ranger with a Limpopo registration.

“One G4S guard was robbed of his 9mm pistol. The investigation continues,” said Mathe.
