Africa-Press – South-Africa. The Gauteng education department is mourning the death of a Grade 6 pupil from Mphe-Thuto Primary School in Ga-Mohale, Mogale City, who died in a bus accident on Thursday.
The spokesperson for the department, Steve Mabona, said the boy fell during a fight among pupils who commuted on the bus and was run over by the vehicle.
The department will deploy its psychosocial services to the school on Friday.
He said police are investigating the incident. Their response will be added once received.
MEC Panyaza Lesufi conveyed his condolences.
“We are utterly devastated by this tragic incident, and we wish to convey our deepest condolences to the family and school community at large,” the MEC said.
