Africa-Press – South-Africa. Former African National Congress (ANC) spokesperson Zizi Kodwa will have to wait until November for an outcome of an application for his fraud and corruption charges to be dropped.
Kodwa and his co-accused, Jehan Mackay, appeared briefly in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.
Kodwa is accused of accepting bribes amounting to almost R1.7 million from Mackay in exchange for government contracts.
The Director for Public Prosecutions (DPP) has requested more time to review his application to have his charges withdrawn.
NPA spokesperson Phindo Mjonondwane: “So there’s a whole of consultation work that must be done, including consultations with the investigating officer, as well as the complainants in the matter. So hence the unfortunate delays.”
