Africa-Press – South-Africa. Police in the Eastern Cape have launched a manhunt for eight detainees who escaped from the Asfondering police station cells in Maluti.
It’s still unclear how the group managed to escape.
Police say an investigation is underway following the incident, which occurred on Saturday.
The eight men are considered dangerous, and members of the public are urged not to approach them, but to report any sightings to police.
Eastern cape police spokesperson Nobuntu Gantana said that a separate case of aiding and abetting has been opened to determine whether the escape was assisted.
