Africa-Press – South-Africa. Margaret Arnolds, the MMC for Finance, has been appointed to represent the executive team in the Johannesburg council programming committee.
This, after Dada Morero was elected to replace Mpho Phalatse as the executive mayor.
It was met with some objection by a small group of DA-led coalition members, the majority of whom did not show up.
The handful of DA members, who came to the 10th extraordinary sitting of the Johannesburg council on Friday, did not sign the register.
Phalatse was in attendance, albeit later, and to the sounds of wolf whistles and some “halalas” from opposition parties.
She responded by blowing a kiss.
The next extraordinary meeting will be held on 20 and 21 October.
