Africa-Press – South-Africa. One of the accused implicated in the disappearance of German tourist Nick Frischke was granted R500 bail in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
Igshaan Fisher, Jason Abrahams, Vanroy Petersen, Carlo Guenantin and Melvin Guenantin were arrested on charges of aggravated robbery and possession of a firearm in February. They were found with Frischke’s backpack and wallet shortly after he disappeared.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said the state requested bail be set at R1 000, but the court set it at R500.
“His [Abrahams’] case and that of his co-accused was transferred to the Wynberg Regional Court for a first appearance on 10 October,” said Ntabzalila.
Frischke, from Brandenberg near Cottbus in Germany, was robbed on 15 February after he left his Airbnb accommodation in Pinelands, Cape Town.
He has been missing since.
Western Cape police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said the investigation was ongoing.
Van Wyk said:
The SA Police Service does extensive searches when “credible new information is received”, he added.
