Africa-Press – South-Africa. The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has slammed former Police Minister Bheki Cele’s testimony before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee, calling it reckless and irresponsible.
This follows Cele’s allegations on Thursday that the MK Party is connected to suspected criminals.
He claimed that the organisation is being funded by alleged diamond dealer Louis Liebenberg, who is behind bars in connection with an alleged R4 billion investment fraud scheme.
MK Party spokesperson, Nhlamulo Ndlela, has dismissed the claims, insisting the party has no links to Liebenberg.
“The uMkhonto weSizwe Party categorically rejects the false and defamatory statements made at the Ad Hoc Committee hearings by former minister of police, Bheki Cele, regarding alleged funding of the party by Louis Leibenberg.”
